World renowned celebrity chef, Sanjeev Kapoor has graciously accepted to be the guest of honor at the event. Chef Kapoor is noted for the much loved Khana Khazana show that ran for a record 25+ years. He is the Founder of the Food Food TV Channel, has franchised 75+ restaurants, written several hundred cook books and a owns line of kitchen appliances and cookware. He was awarded the Padmashri in 2017 – one of the highest civilian honors bestowed by the President of India. The Akshaya Patra Foundation:
The largest mid-day meal program in the world, Akshaya Patra currently feeds hot, nutritious meals to over 1.7 million children in 14,250 government schools across 12 states in India, every day via 37 kitchens that can cook anywhere between 10,000 to 250,000 meals within 6 hours. Often being the only meal the child receives in a day, it is a critical intervention for children to attend school and stay in school, addressing classroom hunger and education at the same time. It costs only $20.00 to feed a child for an entire school year. Akshaya Patra's goal is to serve 5 billion meals by 2020.
