|The San Diego Action Center for the non-profit Child Rights & You, America (america.cry.org) brings the celebration of Holi - Festival of Colors to San Diego on Saturday, Mar 16th, 2019, in Hourglass Community Park, Black Mountain Road (near Miramar College). It is a non-denominational community event to bring people together from all walks of life - Indian or not - to celebrate the beginning of spring and the triumph of Dharma (Justice) over Adharma (Evil).
All the proceeds from this festival go to CRY America (america.cry.org) - a 501c3 registered non-profit - that works for the rights of underprivileged children. It is an organization that believes that every child has a right to their childhood, free from child labor, child marriages, trafficking and relentlessly strives to provide means to development, education, security, nutrition, and representation for the children who cannot stand up for themselves.
CRY America's San Diego Action Center is a group of volunteers who are organizing this event 7th year in a row. It draws people who come here to greet each other by applying color (very eco-friendly) on each other, dancing to music, and enjoying Indian food from various vendors.
